Reduce CO₂ Emissions and Save Costs
The SID-Dock is an innovative solution for sustainable anesthesia, directly helping hospitals reduce their CO₂ emissions. Currently, 95% of all anesthetic gases are released into the atmosphere as harmful waste, contributing to over 3 million tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions annually. The SID-Dock disrupts this polluting cycle by capturing, recycling, and reusing anesthetic gases. This not only reduces environmental impact but also supports healthcare facilities in achieving their Net-Zero goals.
Applications in Healthcare
The Medical SID-Dock offers both environmental benefits and cost savings for hospitals. By reusing anesthetic gases, the need to repurchase expensive anesthetics is significantly reduced, leading to long-term financial savings. Additionally, it helps healthcare facilities meet sustainability targets and Net-Zero strategies, which are becoming increasingly important in the healthcare sector. The SID-Dock can be implemented in operating rooms (ORs) to capture and reuse anesthetic gas emissions directly during surgical procedures.
How does the SID-Dock work?
The SID-Dock is an advanced system that seamlessly integrates with existing anesthesia equipment and connects directly to the hospital’s Anesthetic Gas Scavenging System (AGSS). Using reusable SID-Cans, anesthetic gases such as sevoflurane, isoflurane, and desflurane are safely captured and purified. This prevents harmful gases from being released into the atmosphere and allows for their reuse in a sustainable cycle.
By adopting the SID-Dock’s circular approach, hospitals not only reduce anesthetic gas emissions but also decrease the demand for newly manufactured anesthetics. This leads to lower raw material consumption, reduced anesthesia costs and a more sustainable healthcare sector.

Sustainable anesthesia in operating rooms (ORs)
The SID-Dock can be implemented directly in ORs to capture anesthetic gases during surgical procedures, preventing them from entering the atmosphere. The system integrates seamlessly with existing anesthesia equipment and the hospital's AGSS without requiring changes to clinical workflows. The captured gases are stored in reusable SID-Cans, where they are recovered, recycled, and reused within a circular economic process. This drastically reduces both the environmental impact and CO₂ emissions of anesthesia.
